Anyone know VW Gti Motronic injn (2.0 16V '96 - ABF engine)

Says it all, will not cold start, and run smooth till warm...

Full Bosch Motronic came after Digifant I think

Plug it in, will probably say coolant temp sensor on back of head.

Thanks, presumably plug it in means to a VW bit of kit, to get the error codes.. yes, it sounds very much like a temp sender, once warm seem fine, just won't idle from cold.

i had the same a few weeks since with a 1997 20th aniversery golf3 gti 16v turned out to be idle speed control valve try pulling it out and blocking the hole in the manifold then starting it should idle slow but more stable i cleaned the valve by leaving it soaking in carb cleaner over night and it was spot on when i refitted it to the car next morning

M'mmmmmmm, error codes...... thanks but no thanks etc
