i'm an old hand at the carboots, been trawling the things for over fifteen years, looking for old records etc.. its an addiction i tell ya..
i hadnt been to one for a while, so i thought i drag the missus down to an afternoon booty, seeing as it was such a lovely day.. we bought a few bits and bobs, but just as we were about to leave, i spotted an mini electrolux fridge sitting on the floor.. i opened it up and it was a little mouldy(nothing a clean wouldnt fix) but apart from that it was perfect, not even any rust on the back.. i enquired if it was working, he said "it was" and that it was £20!!!! so i offered him £15 (cheeky bugger)

he accepted..
got it home cleaned it up and plugged it in, and away it went.. working a treat. i was well happy.
all i have to do is figure out how to get the thing in my van.. as it only has a cooler at the moment.
you gotta love car boots.

A couple of years ago at the techy weekend on Notts I went to the car boot in the field next and got myself a nice set of air horns for £2 which Disco Dave kindly fitted before I left to go home

I got a nice italian espresso stove top pot for £2 too - much better quality than the new ones, I bought one for my bro in law last year and the quality was terrible

My best was a brand new, as in never been out of the bag, Berlin awning for £45, the seller wanted £50 and said it was new but I didn't think they meant brand new and never opened

so I offerd £40 and we settled on £45 I couldnt belive my luck when I opened the bag and it was packed as straight from the factory. It is going to be great for Glastonbury.
