De-Cat?

I've got a 1990 DG Uk spec panel which has a cat fitted, don't know why, perhaps a garage has done a wrong un in the past?
It doesn't need replacing, but is it worth buying a decat pipe to free up a few gee gee's?

Just buy a normal DJ pipe, off the shelf, like

If it has a lambda sensor, then it's not a DJ...

Thanks Si, got a DJ I can get it from. Any noticable power hike?

DJ's don't have a cat, so removing it will put it back to where it was.

If it's on the left hand bank just before the silencer.

I've been told it's a resonance box to stop the pipe resonating and fracturing at the silence box conection but maybe the techie was telling me porkies  Is this true Si??
