anyone on here camped with a kid this young? wife is a little bit worried but i said its not like were in a tent. is it sensible or not cause im a bloke & dont know these things

I reckon 50 nappies should cover the weekend. The westys got double glazing so screaming shouldnt be to much of a problem for those with hangovers

we camped a fortnight ago with our 7 month old and it was freezing around 4am when we woke
our little un was fine, she slept along side us on her matress on our full width rock n roll in the top lh corner, wrapped up better than we were
owlets is right, warmth is the issue, she wore a beanie to sleep in and best of all we could keep an eye on her
its still cold at night at the mo, its a difficult one as 1 month is young ...
warmth is the issue

I tented with my little one at 5-6 weeks. He was fine. shared my sleeping bag with me. but then he's my third so perhaps wasn't as worried as I would have been with my first!!
as for nnumber of nappies, can't help you there he was always in washable.
I would have thought in a van you'd be ok. I have a baby sleeping bag in the airing cupboard. I will pm you

OK. thank you all for the advice we are going to see how things go and decide on thursday, maybe we just camp the saturday night. was thinking of having one of us on the bed with the moses basket the other in the pop top.

we had our fist overnighter with summer when she was 3 weeks old. She slept in one of those samsonite popup travel cot things, but we later went on to use a moses basket as you could move this with her in it. nothing worse than getting them to sleep then them waking up as you try to slide to back of the van to put them down! he he. She was fine and wrapped in quite a few blankets. Bear in mind though it was towards the end of may so a little warmer that at the moment.
I made sure I didn't have loads of covers on, so I would know if was really cold. She was still waking every 4 hours at that point though for her feeds so it was easy to keep an eye on her temperature wise. Nice and snug in a moses basket with the blankets. put little socks on her hands too as they didn't seem to come off like the baby mits we had...
Once night in spetember it got really cold, but I just put the cooker on for a bit to warm the van up.
If it were me, i'd wait and see what the weather forecast is gonna be like... In truth you'll probably not sleep brilliantly the first few times you camp with your littel one as you'll be half asleep and checking that they're fine.... I know i did!

Was going to camp at bus types but weather has dictated it

as no heating fitted yet in my van (eber coming next week).
We have decided to come early on Saturday for the day and go home on sat night, I'm gutted but my baby comes first she has had Bronchialitus on and off so taking no chances.
