I was in San Jose recently and did a bit of driving in the area. Theres a VW main dealers in Vera, slightly inland just north of Mojacar if thats any good to you.

Also came across a playa where its possible to park (there was a T25 and a big old truck with Beetle headlamps!). I cant remember the name but was heading back to San Jose from the "plastic sea" and took a left soon after fleeing that valley. Its a dirt road.

I'll check maps to see if I can remember.

Good luck

I can recommend Walter Hurlimann at Dorbrunnen Garage 100%. Maybe you could combine it with a holiday in Switzerland, as I did.
