Heading says it all!
Do you have to get all four wheels off the ground?

Jack up a side at a time so one rear and one front wheel is off the ground.

Done this job but don't recollect any problem. I did completely pull apart each rear drum and replace/refurb/lube everything. New parts included shoes, cylinder, fitting kit. What's your issue ?

Alot of people adjust them until they bind and then back off a bit, the VC will stop it turning unless a front one is off the ground. Just differnent peoples ways of doing them.

Cheers for replies.
Have no service history with van. Just learning & checking things as I go along.
Thought that if drums went un-adjusted they just wear the bottom side.
Going up to Wales next week & thought I'd have a look.

They automatically adjust... but have to be "reset" if you have them apart, which is no bad thing if you now little about its history...
Yep to be able to "spin" the drum you will need both rears off the ground or a side off the ground..
