Whale "Evenflow 500" water pump

Have looked in Wiki and searched the forum, but no luck so far. Have also emailed the manufacturers but thought I might get a quicker response by asking on here! I'd be very grateful for any advice / info with the following:

Whilst trying to sterilise the underfloor water tank and piping I seem to have damaged the Whale Evenflow 500 pump (model EF 0510). When I tried to pump water from the tank to the tap no water appeared despite switching the pump on and running it for a few minutes. The pump sounded as though it was working because there was a 'whirring' noise. After running the pump for a few minutes the noise changed in tone and then stopped before I had time to switch the pump off. When I try to operate the pump now there is no sound at all and nothing happens. I have checked the fuse (in the control panel / zig unit, where the switch for the pump is) and this is still intact.

I suspect that the pump and water tank hasn't been used for some time. If I have damaged the pump is it likely to be repairable (and if so, where could I take / send it for repair?). If it isn't repairable, is this pump still available or has it been replaced by another model? It's not a submersible pump (but don't know what the other type are called  )

Thanks again for any info / advice anyone can provide. Tony :D
