Trailing arm mounting point

The sill section where the trailing arm bracket is mounted is rotton just in side the bracket all around it is perfectly fine ,do i need to chop bracket off and weld it up then refit a new mounting bracket,or would this pass mot.

Hard to say without a pic or knowing how deep / far the rust is.

Have a look at this post

I have found it best to go in through the side panel above the JP and repair from above. That way you don't have to remove the jacking point. If it's not too far gone that is.

Thats great i did think of doing that its not bad at all the rest of it, its just inside.i did same thing on the front because under the wheel arch had rotted so i chopped off the bottom of wheelarch as that needs slight repair also ,excuse the poor welding ,welder had rusty wire .
