1600 CT Aircooled vacuum lines question

Hi all,

A 1600 CT question: I'm replacing the vacuum lines around the carbs, distributor, manifold and airbox and looking at my airbox I see two connectors for the vacuum lines.

However Mr Haynes shows four! Two being labelled as Temperature regulator and two as Temperature switch. I reckon the airbox in my bus is original so it has survived with just these two. Are there any CT experts left who could guide me in what to connect to which?

I hope that I'm making sense.

Best,

Paul.

Hello,
So you have an early 80-81 T3 CT, the Haynes shows the later 81-82 version, with plastic vent covers at the rear air intakes

Here is the earlier, as fitted to Golfs with carburettor of 1980:

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the diagram... Ill take a proper look tomorrow, I can follow most of it but can't work out where the feed from the inlet manifold comes in yet. Also I have two three way connectors but no four way as in the diagram....

I'll have a play tommorrow... No doubt I will be back with more questions,

Thanks,

Paul.
