Torque settings - dry or lubricated

I’ve tried to search an answer to this question both here and over at the Samba but find a lot of ambiguous information and am more confused than when I started out! The recomme3nded torque setting for the rear hub nut on the T25 is 500 Nm, then tighten further to fit the split pin. Nowhere is this specified as to whether or not it is for a dry or lubricated assembly. I suspect a clean, dry assembly but am not certain. Does anyone have any advice on this. Thanks.

I have always torqued nuts to spec with copper grease on.
500 is some wack

Torque setting are generally given for dry assembly. However, I normally use a light drop of 3 IN ONE type oil.

Original assembly of this type would not have been lubricated. When you think about it, why would it need to be? All brand new parts!
