Hello

I’m looking at replacing my stock distributor with one of these following this awesome tutorial..

https://youtu.be/KkyBAMMHpa4?si=2wSypXD4Mkp8nMf4

In it the original washer from powerspark is replaced with a ‘D’ washer. Does anyone know if this is a requirement or just a preference & will the one fitted to the unit work?

Sorry if I’m being anal, this is my first job on the van.

Hello,
Wow did I really make this video over 12 years ago..
To answer your question: I use the Bosch D type distributor shaft oil seal simply because it is a better fit and makes it easier to fit the distributor into the crankcase.
The seal is available separately:

I am not in the UK,so it is possible that the image will not show...
It is an Elring brand, ref 111 905 261, for less than 1€

Hope this helps... :)
