TEMP GAUGE AND FUEL CLOCK

My temp gauge kept looking like it was overheating , even when just turned on, this auto electrician had a look and disconnected the wires but it was still doing it, he advised new clock etc, how can i chk if one works b4 i buy, say at oswestry 2nd hand .

looked at your post last night and realosd I didn't know enough to help you but noticed tonight that there are still no responses-is there a fuel gauge problem as well as a temp one

Try the big connecter under the dash. I had a bad conection there and got the same symptoms as you with the added attraction of music from the buzzer of doom.

eck !!! wats a big connector??? i too have a buz, but seems to be comin from the flash in me fuze box, had all my earths check, but my clock ie fuel and temp gauge fell out. fuel still works ok, its just the temp gauge, and also when i switch the indicators on, oil and deisel lights and indicators all flash on and off.. my worry is that I wont know when she is truly overheating or when its faking it.

Great, is it the one with the temp and fuel thing on it ? I was told to buy it as a complete set ie temp and fuel. then speedo, i havent got a clue to be homest, the van is 1983

Hi Scoobybuz,
it's a separate unit, my dash had the speedo to the left and fuel and temperature on the right. the temperature gauge unbolts from the dash and the printed circuit.
