The bathtub on the roof

I have a Westy-style poptop with the moulded luggage bin in front of it. And it fills with water every time it rains. I'm pretty sure this is not a desirable outcome! ๐Ÿ˜‚

How does everyone else solve this issue? I could just make a few holes but I'm not convinced that letting the water pour out onto the roof underneath is a great idea. Is there a danger of it collecting somewhere? Causing rust?

Aren't there already some formed drainage openings - I believe they should be located in the front corners of the tray?

FYI - there's a workshop manual on the Westfaliat3 site here that covers the Westfalia camper installation which gives a bit of detail of how the tray is fitted - it's in German but should be readily translatable.

In any case, if itโ€™s never been done, it might be worth taking the front tray off and checking the condition of the roof underneath.
