Gas "hot air"heater via a vent into cab

My van has the traditional gas blown hot air system, its been in the van since well before I bought it in 2011.I rarely use it, but since upgrading my vans leisure battery system and investing in a portable Dokio solar panel I may go for grass pitches without electrical hook ups more. However, in the colder months I may use my gas heater system if not on a hook up, my idea is not to use in later hours (sleep time) though, does anyone have experience of similar use, is it ok? As I say I have rarely used it,thought it wise to ask.

I would not feel comfortable sleeping with a gas heater on.
warm the van up then go to bed.
Anyhow make sure you have a C MONOXIDE detector and fire blanket in van anyways

You mean a heater such as a 'Propex' ?
They're designed for that very use, if fitted correctly they vent outside via the exhaust so perfectly safe.

They are perfectly safe and are designed to run all night all day if required
