Any fridge recommendations to run off leisure batteries, I’m still going to be using the gas for the hob .From what I can see the Dometic  coolmatic CRX50 is the one to go for . My requirements are , it must fit into the Westfalia cupboard space and not protrude if possible , I’ve seen a trim kit for these , is it worth getting ? Any advice or suggestions appreciated.

cheers

Do you know the dimensions of the original fridge of the Westfalia ?
Once you know, you can look for according to dimensions.

I have the Dometic CRX 50. It is a good fit in the Westy cupboard and a really great improvement on the already good but inefficient original.
I have not quite worked out how to finish the surroundings and I am not planning to disguise it like the original or what to do with the gap underneath ( am thinking to maybe put my propex there but am not sure that's a great idea fridge cooling wise).
but it is a good and simple fit.

Thats a very good fridge.. so far for me anyway. Had it running constantly since fitting it in may. Two 130w panels on a 110ah AGM battery keeps it running happily doesn't draw much at all, about 4amps when the compressor runs for a bit. The freezer keeps things frozen so icecreams are now in our inventory when going away.
The fridge gets down to temp quite quickly as well a decent size inside for a fair few bits and bobs, the door is good in the sense you can open it both ways so if you're pushed for space that can help plus it has a good storage in the door itself.

Just for clarification, i mean the one the maxstu linked.

That does look like a good deal indeed. You could probably buy two for the price of the dometic. (i did get an excellent deal on mine but it was still £400)
The interior looks identical so has either come from the same Chinese factory or is a rip off but is well thought out and works well. I particularly like the sliding barrier in the bottom for tray to stop my Proper Jobs from falling over.
I very much like the fact that you can remove the freezer compartment if you don't need it and just have a bigger fridge.

Or you can turn the whole fridge into a freezer.

Are we talking about this fridge?

(That Google share link won't work for me here).

A new fridge has been on my wish list for ages, but my current, rather tired and shabby 43 year old compressor fridge refuses to die.

Just measured up, and my one is 45cm wide, these current generation ones appear to be 38cm wide.

Just ordered mine from Just Kampers, yes its a smaller width, but have made a framework to box it in ,it needs room around it to circulate anyway, will let you know what I think once fitted, (my very old 3 way fridge had to go , lots of issues) by all accounts these are very good.
