Hi, It is 42C in another heatwave here in France, and we really could do with a quiet, efficient aircon unit that will run on our 12v leisure battery, charged by two solar panels already fitted on our roof rack.  Can anyone recommend a small suitable unit please? They all seem to be from China, and are available at fairly reasonable prices in the USA, but none of the makes such as Countrymod, Ihoo Too or Kryscape seem to be available here in France. Any advice much appreciated.  Also, our solar panel system was fitted by the last owner.  It charges the leisure battery via a Blue Solar Charge Controller (please see pic).  The van has an invertor and mains hook up, just to power a couple of mains sockets, but no mains battery charger for the leisure battery.  Can I just connect one to the leisure battery (powered from the mains hook up) please, or does it need wiring in some way via the charge controller?

I wpuld guess the amperage requirement to be about the same as that needed to run a 12v compressor fridge plus a fan or two, so 8 amps might be required to run it continuously.
