Anyone got a JP stainless steel system fitted on their van? If so are they good quality and what is the fit like?
Cheers. :)

One or two 'niggles' I believe after the TerryTerryV anMan batch, but overall nothing catastrophic I think - PM Andy Mclements (SyncroAndy) and ask him direct - I know he obtained one from that early batch and might have some worthwhile comments...

Well then if you do at least your total spend on you vehicle will become nearer 600 quid rather than a measley 3 quid as it is just now.......

I gather they are top quailty rather than buying one which will only last a couple of years,,,,,so if you intend to keep you van for some time buy a good one not a cheap bugger, which is failse ecconomy in the long run...

As far as fitting it goes, if you have the mechanical expert ease and confidence to do such a job simply go for it,,,,,,,,if not it proves yet again that if being a mechanic was SO easy then any silly bugger could do this job.........

Regards

Cheers guys, just got a quote. Full system in stainless £611.00 fitted  Mind you they want £100+vat for fitting, so may just fit it myself. My van's gonna be with us for quite a few years yet so I think I'll take the plunge and get one while I've got the notes :P

Just received my new DG stainless exhaust from JP. It looks a good peice of kit. Got some pics of it put together indoors - couldn't resist checking it out - but haven't the foggiest how to post them here.

With the cost of a standard mild steel JK version around £270, £512 for the JP version SS seems a good investment if you intend to keep your van long term.

Is it single or twin tailpipe? Prefer single myself. Do you know if they are any louder than a standard steely.

Don't know about the noise - will have to wait until it's fitted.

I have a peugeot 205 Rallye (twin webbers etc) which has a stainless exhaust and I didn't notice a difference in noise levels.

I had one from JP and fitted myself, although after just having a new engine fitted there was no trouble with manifold bolts etc. Oh and new silencer brackets made it easier too. Well pleased with mine £550 though (syncro).

Yeah, used them years ago. Had a full s/s system fitted on an AX GTi. Was not the best of quality. Had to go back with it a couple of times to have cracks repaired. Third time I welded it myself, no problems then :P
Once bitten, twice shy? Maybe they have improved over the years, they must be doing summat right I suppose
Looking like I'm going for the JP.

Cheers for the link anyway.

i made mine myself for about £250, but i have to make my own as i have a subaru engine fitted plus i never spend on people making things for me when i can make it myself!!!! (fully time mechanic with access to everything i need)
