Ok the Velle has lots of glass, as you know it gets damn hot in the summer and the glare is nasty...
Has anyone tinted their van windows?
How much did it cost?
How easy is it to do?
Where's the best and cheapest place to buy from?
Are there any alternatives like roller blinds?

Yes A few people on here.

The cost of the tint material plus paper.

Easy peasy, using my template method, see previous posts on this subject.

Couldn't say, I bought mine in France. But guess about £40 in 'rip-off' Britain.

In my opinion tints are far better than blinds, of course if you're kipping in your van then curtains as well as tints are the daddies.

Cheers Tex, just found a few posts from way back, looks like it will be an expensive job and therefore out of the question to go professional. May have a go myself but seems like a pig of a job.....

if factory glass i have always find it a lot easier. the only problem
is that you dont always know whats behind the rubber....
main thing to remember is the usage of loads of water when applying
the film...and dont rush/panic when it goes wrong

No it realy is fairly easy to DIY using my template method, the worst part is getting all the bubbles out, but take your time and all will be OK, use plenty of soapy water to allow the tint to slide easy, start from one end and hey presto the job's a good un.

Like it said in the previous posts, you have to make sure the glass is absolutely clean before you apply the film. On one of my windows there is a patch (5p size) of mildew caused by not cleaning the glass correctly, but hey the've been done about 4 years now.

its a peice of pi$$ torz, i did mine on the top of the north york moors with a scalpel a squeegy and some soapy water......

just dont prepare it where your cat has been...........

Hi all, I did give it a go and only got around to doing one window (it was getting dark) not the best time of day. In the morning it looked sh!te so I rang around a few numbers (googled Bristol window tinters) and a bloke did the lot for £200 thats windows out and re fitted in about 6 hrs. I didnt have the drivers or passengers windows done, but he said it would only be an extra £75 and thats with the quarter light windows as well.

Very happy with the finish.....had the edge on my effert.
