Starting problem

The van started up first time. But if I turned it off it would not start again for approx 30 minutes. It was doing my head in. Andy (SyncroAndy) paid me a visit, and he removed this lot. A long-defunct alarm/Immobiliser. The van ran for years with it, but it decided to mess about recently. So a massive thanks to Andy, I can now start using the van again.

Yes wow.
It is good to have mates like that.
A helicopter engineer mate helped me when I installed the TDI and stripped out everything I didn't need from the golf loom. I had a pile that looked very similar. It took him about 5 minutes of reading the wiring diagram and the pinouts and merrily stripping unnecessary wires out as he went. Shortly after that he said "it should start now" and I turned the key, and it started.
I was gobsmacked and extremely grateful. It could have taken me years.
