Oil alarm

Hi, I’ve a 89 Westfalia Vanagon 2.1 petrol. The problem I’ve got is when I rev engine oil light comes in and alarm sounds ? Hope someone can help…….Thanks. Tom……..

You need to read up on how the DOPWS system works. Dynamic Oil Pressure Warning System.
Because it is an electrical system, bad earths and corroded connectors can cause false alarms.

I've had a faulty sensor give me a warning light before.

They are only switches not sensors. The low pressure one puts the oil light off at a very low pressure (a few psi) and the high one will sound the buzzer if there is insufficient pressure (depending on the switch) over 2000rpm.

This is not meant to sound sarcastic but have you checked the oil?
