Working on fitting new gutters, as the van is a hightop with the usual catastrophic rust on the roof. Puzzling over how to replicate the curved end of the gutters where it wraps round the corner of the roof? Anyone done this or do you not bother?

You could just cut them out of another van.....

Or cut loads of notches out of the inside of the curve and weld them up.

The proper way is to use a shrinker/ stretcher (youtube will have good tips and explanation) to put the curve in.

In many cases you can get away with just stretching the metal on the outside of the curve by hammering it thinner, but I think the curve of the gutter is a bit much and you would probably end up thinning the metal on the outer edge too far.

Aye, I was thinking of cutting and notching. Shrinker might work too but not sure if mine would fit. Cheers tho

Problem with welding is that even with die grinders and finger sanders, dressing the weld on the inside of the curve will be a nightmare. However if you've got a hightop, the inside of the gutters is usually full of rust adhesive so that might not be a mega issue?
