Headlights blow indicator fuse

1982 EFI 2l air-cooled. Upgraded headlight relays.
Upgraded the headlight wiring a few years ago now with power straight to headlights via fuses and relays (modified Heritage Parts rig). Haven't done much night driving but it all seemed OK. Took the van to Kangaroo Island for a couple of weeks. Even drove at night a few times. Last day the indicator fuse (S11) blew. Been tracing the problem today and it turns when I switch on the headlights the indicator fuse blows. Brake lights work, head lights high and low work just the indicators don't. First time post, is this dealt with elsewhere in this forum? anyone got ideas?  Thanks

Thanks Mocki, guess it's time to learn more about the electrics. Good news is it's not the headlight relay (cause they don't have one). Not sure if it's on the headlight circuit or the indicator. Indicators work fine when fuse is good. Does this suggest short is on HLs? But why would that take out indicator fuse? They're a rare car here in oz, only 550 or so originally imported. It's got the US Vanagon circuit wiring.

Found an errant wire under the dash, capped it off and solved the problem. Random problem with good luck solution.
