I took my front diff out to change the vc and found something interesting. Never seen one this badly damaged, but thanks to CJ being at his Sunday am I`m now back in action, but while it was dismanteled take a look at the speedo drive to find that this had siezed and also needed replacement. Front locker was siezed so taht was also looked at. Glad to say now tho everything now works fine, speedo, locker and vc.

Have seen this once in the past.It was a diff on on Clives docka.

Cor! Well remembered Russel and Euan - the infamous 'treacle and honey' front diff..

Did you get that dave, about a pint and a half at most of smelly treacle - courtesy the BBC maintenance depot, or their sub-contracted garage ho really kept a good eye on the transmission - shame it was their blind one.

Always staggered at how 'perfect' and 'almost new' some of the European utility company imports are, a real pride in their ownership - and then ours often battered to shreds and ill-maintained. The paint job on mine also deserves a prize - BBC management showing a real pride in appearance when changing their corporate branding - NOT!
