Apologies to admin if I put this in the wrong section again, im still learning!

We have a t25 transporter and are doing a bit of work on her. Looking at the gas installation i have senn a few bits about gas lockers.

We do not currently have one! Is it law does everyone have one? Is it something we NEED to do?

We have carried gas bottles for years tent camping and never heard or seen this, however we want to do the right thing in our camper.

I have just got a Co2 alarm as I thought this would be a good idea but no clue about the Locker.

Thanks in advance for any advice

It's not law, but realistically you'd be foolish not to have designated cupboard for your gas bottle that is well sealed and has a vent through the floor to allow any leaks to escape.
You can now buy "off the shelf" premade, almost hermetically sealed, steel fabricated gas lockers. These are another bit safer than a traditional 1990s style "gas locker" which is just a wooden cupboard with a hole in the floor.

But it's all a balance really - If you treat the gas bottles with respect, turn them off after use and keep all the regulators and hoses in good order then the chance of leaks is very low and you might be happy with doing it "1990s style". I can't personally be bothered using gas anymore and I do all my cooking using electric, but I'd sleep happily in a van with a wooden gas locker.
If I was building a van from scratch, I might use one of the premade ones.
