Radius arm cup washers

Whilst investigating squeaks and an occasional clunk in the front near side suspension I have discovered that the radius arm cup washers have been fitted the wrong way round. Having owned the van for just 3 months I have no idea when the bushes were replaced but suspect several years ago. Just another item to go onto the list of things to do!
I’ve reviewed contributions at club 80-90 and the James Akers video about replacing the radius arm bushes and given a recent abdominal procedure don’t think it is something I can undertake. Does anyone know what effect placing the washers the wrong way round has on the performance of the bushes and radius arm and is it okay to continue driving for the next few weeks until I can get it booked in? Bear in mind I’ve already completed a 1600 mile trip to France with no mishaps!
Many thanks.
