hi all just wanted to check a few things b4  I attempt.. my  driveshaft output on my  1.6 jx 5 speed  box is weeping, iv previously changed the seal  but i believe its from the o-ring on the adjuster so I have 3d printed the   tool ..... and will attempt tomorrow, so my understanding is that it adjusts the preload, I am going to assume that its never been touched from factory and therefore I can just paint mark and use a dial gauge to simply return it to the original position and depth after i have removed and replaced the o-ring,
obviously Aidan is the guru on these things and  I would really appreciate his knowledge..
and if sucessfully im happy to print of copies of the tools for others,, for postage and a beer token i can only find them in  america fro $100 or germany who no longer post to uk..

yep, mark the adjusting ring and the case and put it back in same place to maintain bearing preload

be very careful about cleanliness and lubrication of the threads when reinstalling, clean both halves and use plenty of clean oil on the parts when refitting, especially the new o ring

you can make a tool from a piece of square tube of appropriate section

So the 3D printed tool worked a treat to undo the ring. Gave everything a thorough clean. Fitted new oring with plenty of clean oilImage
Unfortunately when. Doing the ring back up it fell short of the mark and the. 1/2 drive gave way. Its annoying as its only about 3-5 degree of its mark..
The test tool was only 60% infill.. So currently printing a 100 % infill to hopefully finish the job in the morningImage
