Folks I’m working though my van and noticed that the heater control was not a VW switch.

I removed the glove box and found the heater wire goe into a box with Chinese writing on it and the wires have been butchered.

I also found an immobiliser wired in as well.

Anyhow, does anyone have a switch with a bit of the loom on each of the connectors they could upload a picture of? So I can try to chase the wiring.

I have now removed this suspect box and the immobiliser ( van works fine) but I have no heater at all now!

by heater , do you mean blower fan?  it may be the "box" was a PWM controller fotr the fan and you may 

Why remove it when you didn't know its function? As above sounds like a PWM controller - a well known modification that by-passes the ancient resistor system that is prone to failure.
Just put it back!
