Are DF and DG engine bottom ends the same?

Evening

Do DF and DG engines share the same bottom ends please?

The reason for asking is I replaced the original DF engine in my van with a used DG because it had leaking water jacket seals. The DG engines power is much better but it has always been a bit noisy and does use a little bit of oil, not a lot but the old DF never used any and was the original engine to the van and had also only covered just over 80k miles.

Unfortunately the DG now also has a leaking water jacket seal so I was thinking if I have to strip the top end to do the water jacket seals could I swap the DG heads onto the DF bottom end and refit the original engine to the van, just a bit upgraded.

Any help from the engine builders on here would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Andy

Same case, crank, rods, pistons/barrels.
But....different camshaft with conservative valve timing - more specifically, the DF has significantly less duration on both the inlet and exhaust. So if you put DG heads on you'll have the bigger valves, but that will give little or no benefit due to the shorter DF opening times and lack of overlap.

Oh bugger, that's what I was afraid of but thanks for confirming it and giving a perfect explanation.

Thought it would be too easy  :)
