Hi all,

I am most of the way through building up my DJ engine with early cooling system.

I am a little puzzled, as I have a cross engine pipe for the early cooling system, but it does not line up with anything.



So I am not sure if I need a different cross engine pipe, or plenum chamber.
Both parts can have part numbers for DH / GV rather than DF or DG.

Any thoughts or useful advice is gratefully received.

A second thought is...
Being a 1987 DJ, it has the oil cooker / warmer in situ.
Just gauging how others have plumbed this in as a retro-fit item on early engines.
There is space, just about to get the two hoses in behind the alloy thermostat body.

Suddenly it makes sense -
I was looking at the plenum chamber on Brickwerks,

Where it says -
Techinically this is the early version, but the only difference is it’s missing the bracket that the Idle Stabiliser Valve attaches to. If you need one, then swapping the bracket over wouldn’t be an issue.
My ISV mounting lug / bracket appears to be fixed, so not 'easily transferrable'.

I am guessing that the cross engine pipe would fit if the idle stabilastion valve is relocated, somewhere low down behind the alternator, or under the air filter.

Is anyone able to confirm my theories.?

A few years ago, Slowcoach very kindly sent me a video of a DH engine running.
The only thing that I cannot see is the idle stabilsation valve although a hose for it disappears behind the alternator.





So the next question is where is the ISV mounted on the early (DH GW) set-up?

UPDATE -
Okay, potentially youtube to the rescue.
It would appear that there are a lot of parts that are different betwern early Digijet (DH / GW) and the later DJ.

So far, these differences include-
The plenum chamber (missing ISV bracket)
ISV shape and relocated near No1 manifold.
Rubber trunking and associated hoses from air flow meter.
Even the DIS unit which is the same as the air-cooled version.

I can reconfigure most bits, now that I know what I am looking for.
