Noticed this at the weekend

If i part close the tailgate it wont open or fully close, have to dive in over the backseat to get to it. The panel off the tailgate is missing so assuming the previous owner had the same issue

Any ideas here for a fix or is it replacement time on the mechanisim?

I want to fit a panel back inside the tailgate so need a permanent fix before i do that

Any ideas welcome

Pull the locking mechanism off and push it onto the striker plate and see if something isn’t working

Sorted it today

The central locking actuator is long dead but the arm slides along freely, moving the mechanism out of alignment when I close the tailgate, needs a stop to prevent this movement

Had me mega confused as always looked right

Sliced a piece of vacumn hose open lengthways and cable tied it onto the open part of the arm so it doesn't slip off, awesome fix

A non central locking locking would fix it too

Think a previous owner tried to grease his way out of it
