Has anyone else noticed that all links to the Wiki are broken?

They all have an erroneous /index.php inserted into them

Two examples:
 Link goes to:
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Index.php/Main_Page
Should be:
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Main_Page
 
Link goes to:
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Index.php/Gearbox_Clutch_CVs_-_Renovating_5_speed_change_mechanism_-_adjustments
Should be:
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Gearbox_Clu ... djustments

There was a server update a few years ago.
Changing all the old links is a huge task.

I shouldn't think it would be too difficult to do a find and replace in the php database using phpMyAdmin

Find:
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Index.php/
Replace:
https://club8090.co.uk/
 
It may need some manual tweaking afterwards but should be quite straightforward.

Do we have a new volunteer admin ?

I would be more than happy to assist. I doubt they need my input though, the site runs very well already.

I have sent Admin Clive (HarryMann) A link to this thread. Hopefully, he will get it sorted.

Looking too but can’t find many including that index.php string

Are you in the Wiki, clicking links because you say “links TO the Wiki”

Think you mean from within the wiki to other wiki topics ?

Thing is, we can only find a few broken links and not loads or every one

Exactly WHERE are you finding these links?

And, are you sure you’re not looking an old cached version of the Wiki, because the Wiki accessed from the Top Level menu on the Forum (which doesn’t show in TapaTalk) is as pure as the driven snow

Yes, there’s bound to be old posts by members years ago using the old addressing link format but we can’t find many, indeed any.

A few specific examples please ?

Please clear your cache and go in through the top level menu of the club8090.co.uK/forum page (accessed through a browser). Any other could be cached.

Links to the Wiki from forum posts.

Every one I have ever clicked has the issue.

These old links go back well before we had everything moved from server to new addresses and the main links were all edited but individual’s historic posts referencing the Wikipedia were not. In a way we’re still dealing with the after effects of a long overdue php update, that we managed during COVID, having got several major version updates behind, requiring a fair bit of manual versioning work

At that time we moved and rejigged the Tech forums and the Wikipedias relationship, which is actually crudely connected into the main forum for Admin & Mod access. So a good amount of work has gone into refreshing the forums and getting them on a better platform and fully packed up to date.

So, thanks for the tip-off , which we’ll address, but you’ll also find an awful lot of broken links to images in the Wiki, many of which past and present members hosted in various public & private external places, as we had extremely limited in-house storage way back when. We still have to embed forum images using an external facility. Hence a lot of those images don’t exist anymore or their hosts don’t. Some can be tracked down manually using detective work, based on image names, if really necessary, existing on other parallel sites.

Right, corrected loads of link of various flavours that have tracked the Wiki’s various moves and manifestations.
Well hopefully, if anyone does find anymore let us know.
