And they wonder why it doesn't work correctly.

Properly soldered there’s no reason it shouldn’t work fine

Well, if you think that that is properly soldered you need to go back to school. It is not soldered to the main cable at all, just hooked on.
And it hasn't ended yet ( don't say that this is properly crimped either ) :

Is that all on one van.
If so get your box of connectors out, crimp tools, soldering iron, heat shrinks and get busy. I can imagine you will find more.....

A heater loom, nothing to do with vans hence posting in general. Don't know why it was moved really.

a carefull "let in and solder" should be great, if the feed lead is fluxed and you use real solder and not modern no lead sh....t.
i hate crimps, 30 years and the are always crap.

Totally agree with the modern solder...
It needs a lot more heat and works like toothpaste.
I would crimp on fresh connectors.
Ensure a good solid crimp, and then solder properly, so you can see the solder run into the strands.
And again - heat-shrink tubing for spliced joints.
--------------
I remember a Meta alarm fitment in my 1994 Cavalier.
It had been done like that top picture.
Strip back a section of insulation.
Separate the exposed conductors.
Thread the bare cores of the new wire through the gap and wrap round.
My wires weren't soldered.
Just wrapped in pvc tape.
Yikes.!!
I had constant false alarm activations.
No wonder I had to strip it all out,
Repair the insulstion.
And fit a whole new alarm using the factory connector.
The alarm is now 100% reliable..
