				Inlet manifold leak

I have discovered a leak around the manifold to head gasket. I sprayed soapy water around it and it starts making bubbles. It seems to be blowing air not sucking in . I've also tried it with carb cleaner but made no difference in the revs of the engine. Is this an intake valve leak and how do I find and fix it. 2ltr cu petrol Aircooled with twin dell's.

Was the engine cold? I suspect the water was boiling? If you had pressure there it wouldn't run and you would not have any servo brake assistance.

Thanks, I think the engine had been running so hot possibly.

Having seen the facebook video I think that you have air bubbles from the heat expanding, if there’s no change of engine speed with carb cleaner there’s no leak , what fault are you attempting to diagnose?

Popping, misfire noise, seems more on deceleration. Sounds more like underneath.

Just a thought, if there was a leak around the gasket but the air was blowing out instead of sucking in would the engine sound different.

Just repeated the test with cold engine and still the same amount of bubbles.
