slow wipers?

When turning on my wipers in the dry ( for squirting the screen clean ) the wipers are dead slow for about ten seconds then start speeding up.
its not so bad when raining.
Do you think this could be the motor and do you need to remove the dash to do this?
many thanks
Rob.

tink its sumfin to do wiv power surge on battery!
washin' up liquid (Fairey's best), in yer washer bottle gets em slidin' quicker

I'd say it was the spindles , I did the drivers side one without taking the dash out though. Fiddley but can be done. :)

take the arms off and apply plus gas and set them running, keep lubing till good then wd40 them and put arms back on - steel and alloy corrosion - bit of a risk dismantling further as alloy may shear.

Plus Gas . . . .Similar to WD40, But better,
think that little hardware shop opposite the old post office sells it, otherwise DIY/motor shops . . . . .always 'andy to ave a can onboard!

plus gas is a proper penetrating fluid which given time will even get between threads and nut on the tightest, most seized bolts. its no good for long term lubrication which is why the previous post says finish off with wd40, which is a lubricant and water dispersing spray. the two are quite different but both very useful to have in the shed.
