Rear jacking point replacement and jig

Hi,
My van has failed the MOT due to corrosion on and around the rear jacking points. After removing the trailing arms and cleaning up the area, there is more corrosion than first thought(obviously!)
I've decided to replace both jacking points and patch the crossmember. I'll take the opportunity to clean out and treat the crossmember and sills while I can gain access.
Any advice on the best way of removing the JP's? I've seen on some posts that others have removed part of the side panel to gain access, but as the bodywork is in excellent condition and the fact the van was only resprayed last year I'm hoping I don't have to do that!

Also, I'm concerned about getting the new JP's in the correct postion when I fix them. I've made a jig out of 12mm bar and set this to the current swing arm brackets, using the inside brackets as a datum. the jig fits both sides without having to alter it. Here's a photo of the jig in postion on the current JP. Have I missed something, or has anyone got any other suggestions on getting the new JP's in postion?

I know this isn't the forum, but how do you paste photos directly, without using a link?!

If I recall you can use threaded bar on the inner point and bolt it tight to that and then you can use that to make sure you got the angle and height right for the outer replacement.

Its one of the jobs that I've not done myself but also interested to see how people get them right.

Have a look at the first three or four pages of my Rustoration thread for some idea of how bad it can get above the JP

Thanks RogerT, I've edited the previous posts to include the photos.

I've had a look at your Rustoration thread  , not sure I'd even know where to even start with that! Glad I caught mine in time, although the same can't be said for my swingarms. I can't believe the MOT inspector missed these!

I've got new ones from Brickwerks. I know the righthand swingarm may be repairable, but it would need replacing eventually so I'll do it know while everything is off.
If anyone is interested in a righthand swingarm thats need the repair patch welding on it, let me know!

Waxoyl the insides of the new arms before you put them on.

I'm definitely going to treat them with something, was looking at some of the Dinitrol products for the inside. More than likely Dinitrol 3125, I'll be using the Dinitrol ML for the inside of the sills and cross members.
I've got some Rustoleum paint left over from the respray, I'm thinking of giving the outsides a couple of coats. Not sure of how that will look, green swingarms to match the van 🤔
