Got a very good deal on a ss complete exhaust for my Gipsy been running a speed shop one for several years but as I now have another engine I wanted to be able to use a full size filter
What’s people’s thoughts on the jk unit it came with a band style of support for the long silencer as I had lost mine when fitting the speedshop kit just want check I am doing the right thing. Thanks Tom

Sorry Tom, I think the JK system is a pile of cheapo junk. Poor quality, bad leaky joints, horrible to fit, cheap mild steel U clamps, carp silencer. On one I saw the baffles broke loose inside and the wadding collected at the outlet blocking the flow. Customer chucked it in the bin for a new Speedshop system and was delighted with the improvement!

Thanks for the reply Andrew the reason I want to t are off the the speedshop exhaust besides the filter problem is that is fitted with mild steel flanges which now are leaking
One thought I did have was to cut off the flanges and sleeve it with ss pipe

Should have also said that the flanges to the heads are okay it’s the ones to the silencer pipes that are rusted

I understand this is a known issue on older Speedshop exhausts, and was addressed on later version with stainless flanges. Best to check before purchase though.
