Hi Guys 

I am fitting a set of speakers and am wanting to run the cable through some door bellows
every one (bar one) is out of stock, they are priced at £60 a per plus postage !!!!!!!! WOW WOW 

the one place that does have them is priced at £83 a pair !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for a bit of convoluted rubber!!! 

any one have a suggestion for me please (no jokes unless you really must) 

give Mick at VW NW a ring see if he's any used ones
they weren't often fitted, because of the body and door design they are unique so even used they now go for strong money, unlikely to be remade, so will always be expensive
if you get the length of wire right and secure it well at the body end and at the door end then you don't need a bellows, many many vans were retro fitted with speakers without using the factory bellows, I've seen quite a few where they just used the hole the door light switch fits in and drilled a hole in the end of the door and used a simple rubber grommet and simply knotted the wire each side, as long as cable stays flexible (modern silicon speaker wire for example) it seems to work fine and if it does break from repeated bending and straightening it's cheap to redo, you can buy a lot of quality speaker wire for £80

I should have mentioned, I am in the UK 

So am I, doesn't stop me buying from other countries. They don't hate us Brits that much since Brexit.

At nearly twice the price though.

The aftermarket oval ones are only 8.90 euros each!

The ovals are for the rear hatch. They are a bit short for the front door.

I don't know how effective UK customs work when you buy from abroad, but I have to pay our 27% VAT and customs on every parcel if I order form the UK. Often resulting more expensive prices than from other shops in the EU.

It depends upon the carrier I have found, stuff from Lithuania has come through no charge but stuff from Germany coming via DHL gets clobbered. Limit is supposed to be £135 value before VAT is charged.

Id always rather buy for the UK if only because if there is a problem, sending stuff back abroad (for warranty, or otherwise) is no fun if the seller wants you to pay.

I would buy from Brickwreks UK, but he's a teener a side more expensive than most, that's £20 EXTRA onto of what is a expensive item for what t is 

But if brickworks is only place with stock in UK then it's probably because they brought that stock in more recently, I know Simon's mark up is generally less than most comparable businesses, so other stockists will likely be more expensive in the future when they buy in the next batch of stock. Unless overseas companies are UK VAT registered then it's likely to be as expensive or more expensive to buy and ship from abroad
(bottom line, with everything, post Brexit the costs of importing have gone up quite a lot because of need for digital customs clearance so shipping prices have increased and time and effort has to be put in doing the extra paperwork to ensure smooth progress of goods plus minimum wage increases feed into the cost of everything, only way to keep prices 'same' is to reduce quality, reduce quantity, or move production to next cheapest labour economy and or rip someone in the chain off, usually the low cost labour, or increase productivity, and sell more at same fixed costs which is hard to do, especially in a shrinking discretionary spend economic climate)

Maybe there is 2 sources of reproduction bellows, doing a part number search the name Kafer comes up and also JP group, could the first batch have been a bit more expensive than JP group.

Just kampers have them at £30 each, little cheaper then brickwerks.
