Oh dear. IIRC It's usually a dash out job.

You gotta be flexible but you can do it without taking the dash out

. Bit of solid wire down the hole from the outside, contort yourself into a pretzel and find the pipe. wrap the wire round the end of the pipe tightly.. slowly draw it up and have a small screwdriver or pick ready to pull the pipe through the hole.

sometimes it is easier to remove the dash and fit some nice fresh pliable hose after 30 years it tends to be hard and difficult to work with and there's very little slack in it, especially if previous peeps have cut it back because they couldn't get the rubber over sleeve off, then it splits because no over sleeve fitted; ask me how I know

And said flexible hose is easily available in your local pet shop aquarium section.

be aware the hose is different size to the one commonly found on ebay or at local motor factors, brickie sells the correct size

I replaced my nozzles with the 3 jet option sometime back and nearly lost the hose inside the van. I wonder if this does happen can you feed the new hose through the nozzle hole back to the pump and reservoir without removing the dash, even if it takes a different route.

That's where I got my replacement hose from. Silicone, nice and flexible and durable. Left heaps of of it behind the dash so I can pull loads out at the jet nozzle.

Just found my jets have no pipes connected either, pulled the arm nice buzz but no water

  reservoir full.
Popped a nozzle off to look and no pipe, oddly no puddle of water anywhere.
Can only think the pump isn't connected to anything...dash off then by the sounds of it?
Speedo cable needs replacing so at very least it's a binnacle off job?

If you haven't already. You might as well change your blower motor. if you are going to remove your dash.

Sounds like a plan, I need to do the heater cables as well, work never ends

I remember seeing an ad on Ebay where the seller said they didn't realise how much ongoing upkeep these need, I thought surely not

Does it have a blower motor ?  Some of the early air cooled models didnt have them, is there a switch on the dashboard ?
