Lost nut

Hi all please help needed, this week I decided to renew the pushrod seals on our T3, which appears to be a 1700 T2 engine anyway while removing the rocker on the second side the rockers were under tension and fired the nut which bounced off the rear tyre into the lovely stone patch on my driveway, needless to say a couple of dark hours later was not found so assuming it's a 10mm thread I tried another nut but no it does not fit so I looked around the van for a donor nut but again nothing.
This now means much to my partners annoyance we are home for the 2nd weekend we were supposed to go away so a call out to anybody in the e17 area that may have some spares for one, I would be forever in your debt.

If theyre the same as in the beetle then theyre M8 1.25 pitch. You should be able to get them from a hardware store or maybe even halfords or Eurocarparts.
Google "m8 1.25"

Hi all thanks for your responses and I am extremely grateful, the nut turns out to be a 7mm so probably a beetle engine or something if anyone knows, CB engine code.
This is now a new thing for us and we will be posting hopefully a few things about our experience and need for assistance, I am going to fully introduce our selves as I have soooo many questions for all your wise heads and again will much appreciate, mainly I know not for purists bur I am looking to fit a GTI engine so any pointers or guidance will be appreciated.
Thanks
