T25 HANDBRAKE LIGHT STAYING ON PERMANENTLY ? Hi, just wondered if anyone had any similar problem or advice. ii have a 1983 1.9 petrol t25 Devon & have just lived with this fault by unplugging the wire. when i plug in the handbrake warning connector situated behind under the dashboard it all works as it should. if the handbrakes on the lamp is on & when i release the handbrake the lamp goes off. The problem is when i turn the engine off the handbrake light stays on ?. I have checked & cleaned the connectors inside the plug connector, then cleaned the courtesy switch metal connectors on the handbrake which is ok but lamp will not go out ? . I have no issues with brake fluid loss or leaks, brakes & cylinders are good & have been checked etc. Anyone with any advice for further checks or cure would be appreciated. Thanks

So, if you take th handbrake off when the key is out does the light go off ? Is it being fed from the wrong circuit ?

Hi & thanks for the reply . Yes if I take the key out and release the handbrake the lamp goes out. On applying handbrake warning lamp would come back on, all without the key in the ignition ?

Ok, so you need to find which fuse is supplying it and move it to a fuse that is only powered with the key on
