High top removal

So thinking of removing the high top on my '83 T25......other than sourcing a used roof skin and welding in place, does anyone supply a flat low profile roof skin in GRP that could be fitted over the remaining stripped roof ? Don't really want to go down the pop top route.
Cheers
Martin

Just be aware. Removing the hightop can be opening a big can of rust worms. I have seen some awful rust hiding under there.
Heres what one member found under theirs.
Best of luck.Image

Never saw anything like a flat GRP skin for sale. In fact never saw anybody searching for one - probably you are the only one who thinks about that and simply it does not worth financially to make something like that.

An used skin or DIY are your options.
But usually it is easier to swap the whole van for one that meets your needs. Especially with rotten gutters like the pic above.

As a point of interest it is surprising how much of the tin top roof edge one can see/feel by lifting the internal plywood roof flooring. I checked mine sometime back.

The picture above is my van. You can see a lot from the inside, but the rust is where the fiberglass side sits very closely to the metal roof. Mine looked fine inside and it was quite a shock when I lifted the roof!!
