How to change the brake light switch ?

Need to change my hydraulic brake light switch but how ?
Have been through wiki cant find this subject.
1.Can I just quickly undo and replace brake light switch then top up fluid.
Or 2. Do I have to drain replace and then bleed ?
This has come about as I was testing my trailers brake lights.
Trailer connected, ignition on and pedal held down with wedged steering lock.
Tried to be clever and change dead bulb while all this was happening, bulb sparked and hey presto no brake lights at all. No fuses blown
An Auto electrician helped me identify the fault via phone.
Locate brake light switch, disconnect plug and with ignition off, bridge the 2 connection.
( I have 3 connections the blue 1 is for the dash brake warning light)
If the brake lights come on its your brake light switch and not a wire or fuse fault.
I have managed to order one for midday tomorrow.
The moral of this story is don't cut corners or you'll be sorry.
:x
Any advice will be truly appreciated.

You shouldn’t need the key even in for brake lights on a t25…
And yes swiftly swap the switch and wipe up the dribble

Thank you Mocki for your reply.
Went down to receive my part but it had not turned up as they had lack of drivers
I remembered the Auto Electrician saying that the 3rd pin was for the dash and also in Brickwerks there was a 2 pin version for later models.
I know VW conversion specialists not far from me so popped over on a long shot that they would have the part.
They didn't have the 3 pin but had the 2 pin for a Beetle.
And with a little bit of alteration, it works
:rollin
Who needs delivery drivers
Have got the 3 pin now and will be putting it in and keep the 2 pin for back up.
