Setting up hydraulic lifters CU engine

Hi, apologies if this has been asked before, I've had a quick look and can't find anything. Just some work done on the engine 2.00l CU air cooled. New hydraulic lifters are in and I've been asked if I can find out how tight they should be set up. Haynes manual says just until the rods are touching but I've a recollection of someone telling me in the past it should be 1.5-2 turns after touching. Can anyone advise? Many thanks

1.5 turns in from touching will be fine.

Hi, I've just done mine, for the second time recently. I would advise taking it for a good run so the lifters haven't bled down. I didn't first time and had to redo them subsequently. I believe I had read this somewhere!
