Am I missing a nut on the throttle mechanism?

I'm just doing the air, oil and fuel filter changes and I noticed on the top of my throttle mechanism it looks like I'm missing a nut? Now at the same time maybe I'm not but the bolt is threaded. So I'm just wondering if I am, and if so can I just put an m6 nut on it or is it a special type of nut that should go on it?

That does look odd,
although I am not a diesel van owner most throttle linkages work the same way.
But I suspect there should be a nut there.
Just a thin low-profile nut to endure that the linkage does not separate.
The bit that looks odd though, is the loop at the other end of the black link rod.
I see the hole, and I also see a nut and threaded stud next to the empty hole.
But no visible link between the rod and the throttle cable.

Cheers Robsey, i will throw a nut on it tomorrow when i get back there.
I'm not really sure where you are talking about, is it where i have the red circle drawn here? Or is it the nut in the middle of the picture holding the accelerator cable on? Either way when i press go she moves and i'm not opening a can of worms before the 28th JuneĀ

Oh ya, I will get a picture tomorrow but if I remember it's actually a slot rather than a hole, similar to where the bolt without the nut above it sits. So it's just bolted into one side of the slot. I've always thought that was a bit strange though because it makes me think if I moved the bolt to where the hole is will it open the throttle more/less.

That is some kind of 1.9 diesel conversion where they needed to lenghten the throttle cable.
It seems like none of the elements can pop put from its place, but better to have a nut there.
I would use a nyloc or other self locking one
