Coil switch current rating.

Hi All, hope all fine with you all. A query please I would like to fit a switch to the coil supply cable, to enhance the security to the van.Does anybody know what current rating the switch would need to be please? Many Thanks Lloyd

The main feed wire to the coil is 1.5mm.

Typically, a 1.5mm wire is rated at 10amps.
So your switch would need to be rated at 10amps, just in case.

You could use a spare dash switch.
Immobiliser wired in, in plain site.

Anything roughly 10A or more will be fine.

Hi guys, many thanks for the replies. I will do this, as it seems a good deterent to do cheaply, and fairly easily.  As you say, could leave in sight or hide location.Regards Lloyd
