Insulation sequence question

Hi folks,

So my van just passed the cvrt test and now it’s time to put it back together before heading away. I had to take out previous insulation to sort some rust and now I want to redo it correctly. I’m only redoing the rear of the van and the sliding door, I will do the roof when I get back as I don’t want to open that can of worms yet.

I’ve never had sound deadening so that doesn’t really bother me and my main insulation will be the recycled plastic type, https://www.diy.ie/departments/diall-in ... 812_BQ.prd. Previously there I had the reflective type attached to the metal and so my question is.....

Should I put the reflective foil back on the metal (Or is it even worth it?), then the recycled plastic insulation and then a vapour layer before putting back on the panelling or does the vapour layer go somewhere else?

I would only use closed cell foam. PE or rubber (same material as a yoga mat, brans are: armaflex, kaiflex, dodo mat etc.).

Only used the closed cell stuff and not any other form of insulation? Or use that instead of the reflective stuff

Usually those self adhesive foams are dual purpose (sound+heat insulation) as they are dense.
But you can use two layers one butyl sound deadening and one foam heat insulation.
Combe Valley Campers have some vids about it.
