Not sure if this is mech or elec. question but here we go anyway

This engine swap has thrown up so many questions and here is another one!

The engine being fitted is 1.9 DG later type. The old one was an early version of a DF 

The DF distributor drive has a spring sticking out of the centre hole the DG does not

What should I do or do I need to replace anything?
 

All WBXs use the same dizzy drive, with the spring. Just swap the spring over.
