Rear windows seal installation

Hi folks,
Quick question. After getting some rust fixed the welder pointed out the rear side window seals had to be taken out when they were doing some work. He was saying he had a fella in to try and put them back in but they were to stiff/rigid as they are so old and so need to be replaced. I trust him and wouldn't think he was trying to pull a fast one for his mate to get work.
I saw the seals are on brickwerks but my question is, realistically is it a straight forward enough job to put in inner and outer seals myself? If I do go down that path is there any special tools I will need or for anyone who has done this job is there anything you bought or used that made your life easier? I must do work on the interior before we hopefully head away in June so I don't want to lose time handing the van over to someone else for a week while they do the seals.

This is the company you need. Even has a video showing how to fit new seals.
https://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/
You need to supply length, glass thickness, metal thickness and web. And add beading rubber too.
Use your old seal to check measurements and add 100mm just in case. And buy a beading tool while there.
It's not a difficult job. I used a glazier's pane holder to aid me. Plus a sprayer container with a weak mixture of water/washing up liquid.

Easy as hell to do. Pick a warmer day. Use plastic clothes line.
Plenty of vids online from gowesty.
you need a helper to thump window as you pull the seal over.

Right so getting round to this job now. But a quick question before i order seals. i hate dealing with windows and seals more than anything

.
So the inner seal that was taken out is shown in the picture below, its got a circular part (bulb?) that goes in the space between the window and inner panel and then the part that clips onto the panel. When i measure the seal do i measure the width of the full part, 20mm, or the width of just the bulb which is 10mm? Seals direct have a similar seal but for a 10mm and a 20mm bulb.
Then when it comes to the outer seal, a local window replacer crowd said its a special type of seal, a H seal i think they said. Which i think is the 'Claytonrite' rubbers on Seals direct.
https://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/shop/cate ... onrite-517
Does that sound right? The inner panel is 1mm thick so im guessing the outer panel is the same thickness, but how do i measure the thickness of the glass without taking it out?
Any help here is greatly appreciated as usual.

Does G3 48 Ucn printed on the window mean anything? Can't find anything on Google but it's on both rear windows and the side windows.

Errrrrr...................
It's the registration number of the vehicle that the windows were fitted in.

It looks like a vehicle registration G348 UCN,
but unfortunately there is no trace of such vehicle on the .gov website.

The reg did exist but presumably has been scrapped/broken up hence appearing in another vehicle.

Yes agreed -
The dvla has been notified that the vehicle has been scrapped or exported.
It has then been deleted off their database.

It sure is

. Ah ok, well it's registered here in Ireland now and has been for the last at least 12 years. I was just wondering did the g3 mean the glass was 3mm or something. Oh well.
