Hi! I’m viewing a 1985 vw t25 this evening and wondering if anybody could take a look at the pictures and let me know as best as possible if this looks in ok condition. I will upload more images tonight but if I could have some advice as to what to look for.  I can see some bobbling but seller says bodywork is solid. Underside has been welded / sealed and  other work carried out including: The body work is my main concern.
  • Brake's refurbished new pads etc.
  • All welding underneath has been completed and under-sealed to a high standard.
  • Complete New engine rebuild with new pistons etc
  • Rebuild/ reconditioned diesel pump and new injectors.
  • New full-length stainless steel water pipes and radiator fitted. New tyres
  • New battery
New front disc brakes and hoses

This will be my first camper so a little nervous! Thank you :)ImageImageImageImageImage

I can’t zoom in on my phone to look at the usual grotspots. Ask them to send a few clear close up photo’s of the jacking points, sills, trailing arms, seams etc .
Have a read of the wiki there’s a good guide for prospective buyers.
David.

Check the roof gutters for rust etc. Even in these pictures I detect some rust!

Thanks very much for the tips. Had a look last night and checked all the places mentioned. It was in a bit of a bad way unfortunately, inside and out. I don't think there was a spot without significant rust, and the work that was done underneath didn't look amazing. The search continues. Off to see another one tonight so hopefully that will be in better nick.

Both a pillars are blown, that will need sorting and be careful with the rust behind the front bumper. That can be done, mine is being done now, but will probably require a new lower front panel. Check Alan h schofield for panel prices, then think about the welding costs - if you are not doing it yourself that is

Doesn't need saying but remember you don't have to rush it, you're the one spending the money. The right one will come along.
