Aircooled Alternator blower

Been looking at getting a new alternator.

I see Slaughter house customs have a upgraded one for the Aircooled engine.

See below pic from their website. It has the new alternator installed and obviously the Image
old blower isn’t.

Would that not have a detriment effect to the cooling of the engine?

The piping adjacent to it is removed as well?

Some answers would be very helpful!

Hello,

Yikes!!!!!!!!

The cooling turbine and pipework is vital..

Otherwise you will cook the heat exchangers and all the crud in them.... and have no cabin heating.

I once forgot to put the plastic tube in place on a CU, but realised my error within 10 kms...

Cordialement,

:ok

I can’t see in the picture where the fan is removed, the fan housing is on, presumably if they didn’t bother with the fan they wouldn’t have bothered with the housing ? The pipe work is missing but wonder if it’s just for pictures? Any details on their site ?

This shows the blower not on the new alternator.

The housing for the fan is on the new alternators as it’s the only way it can be attached to the engine.

As far as I’m aware the pulley on the new alternator will not accommodate the original blower so I believe there’s nothing inside the housing.

This cannot be good for an air-cooled engine surly the blower is needed for assisting in cooling.

Think I would be worried about the drive belt as well, they are not rated much above 90A, hence two belts and then serpentine belts are used for anything higher.
